Kanazawa Shrine worship hall

Kinjo Reitaku
Once upon a time, there lived a poor but honest farmer called Fujigoro in the Yamashina village. When he washed the potatoes, he dug up from the mountains here, he found a lot of gold sand. Instead of keeping it to himself, he shared it with the poor and lived in harmony with them. This is where the 'Kanazawa' - a 'stream' where gold is washed - was created.

Shinmon Gate
